Just got back from voting.

Could be that, after today, we’ll be on our way to that evolution-denying, homophobic, xenophobic, theocratic paradise where no one has to pay taxes, the government is out of our social security, and Mormon fantasies of the End Times actually do come true.

And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

Could be that, after today, it will -- surprise!! -- turn out that Obama actually is Hitler.  I mean Stalin.  No, I mean Pol Pot.  Wait ... I mean (fill in your favorite genocidal maniac here.)

And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

Could be that, after today, it really is okay to make $%&^ up whenever you feel like it, ignore and/or re-write history, and that all answers really are very, very simple.

And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

Could be that, after today, turns out Thomas Paine was secretly an Anglican priest, and that the founding fathers actually received the Constitution on Mount Sinai.

And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

Could be.
